Vancouver Aquarium in Stanley Park

With 70,000 animals to keep them company, kids love the aquarium for the large viewing areas, spectacular live shows and interactive learning programs. Here, both children and adults can feed whales, work alongside the sea otter and sea lion trainers, or visit Clownfish Cove for displays, touchpools and dress up costumes. Kids Market on Granville Island

Another great place to spend the day is the Kids Market on Granville Island. With 28 fun shops, family-friendly services and activities for children of all ages, it’s easy for parents to get some shopping done while the kids have a blast. Shop for wooden toys, educational puzzles or quality clothing before hitting Beanstalk Bistro for refuelling. Make sure to pass by Ribbit’s Candy Corner before leaving for a fix of novelty candy to give you a sugar high. Kids Market is located right at the entrance to Granville Island.

H.R. Macmillan Space Centre & Planetarium

Get your thinking caps on for the incredible adventures awaiting you at the space centre. Where else can you take a trip to Mars in a motion simulator, all the while dodging meteors and almost touching the sun? If a little less stimulation is your style, check out the “Stars for Starters” show in the Planetarium Theatre. Playland at the PNE

A short trip east to the edge of Vancouver brings you to the fun filled amusement park of Playland at the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE). Take the children to the “Kids Playce” where you’ll find kiddie swings, a merry-go-round, flying elephants and a few other treats. There is a picnic area on the grass to make a day of it and many events on the grounds make for a full day of fun. Science World at TELUS World of Science & The Omnimax® Theatre

1455 Quebec Street, Vancouver

Follow Main Street until you get to the large dome along False Creek and you'll reach Science World. All ages can learn and enjoy the rotating exhibits. The Science Theatre has daily presentations like “Space Star Stuff” and “Toons for Tots,” keeping the place rocking all day. The interactive kids games are what keep locals going back, so make sure to allocate enough time to experience all the fun activities that are in store.
